Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn missed practice this week after being involved in a car accident, the team confirmed. Fortunately, the incident resulted in only minor injuries, but out of an abundance of caution, Horn has been sidelined as a precautionary measure.
According to team sources, the accident occurred earlier this week while Horn was driving near the team’s facility. While the full details of the collision have not been publicly disclosed, the team noted that Horn did not suffer any major injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Medical staff recommended rest and observation, leading to his temporary absence from training camp.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales addressed the situation briefly, saying, “Jaycee’s well-being is our top priority. We’re relieved the injuries were minor and we’re giving him the time he needs to recover properly.”
Horn, the 2021 first-round draft pick, has struggled with injuries throughout his young NFL career but has remained a key part of the Panthers’ defensive plans when healthy. The team remains optimistic that his latest setback will not impact his availability for the start of the regular season.
Fans and teammates alike have expressed their support and well-wishes for the 24-year-old cornerback, who is expected to rejoin team activities once cleared by medical staff.
The Panthers have not yet given a specific timeline for Horn’s return but are hopeful he will resume practice in the coming days.
