The 2026 trade deadline is rapidly approaching on Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. ET, with plenty of high-profile names potentially on the move in this year’s cycle.
The action really ramped up on Tuesday, with the headliner being the Clippers’ trade of James Harden to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Darius Garland and a second-round pick. Earlier in the day, the Grizzlies, who have fielded offers for point guard Ja Morant, took the first step toward a significant rebuild by trading Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz in a massive eight-player deal. The Bulls were also busy, shipping out Kevin Huerter, Dario Šarić and a 2026 first-round protected pick in one three-team deal, and sending two-time All-Star Nikola Vučević to the Boston Celtics for Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick.

The wheeling and dealing continued Wednesday, with the Mavericks reportedly trading All-Star Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards in a massive eight-player swap. Shortly after, the 76ers sent Jared McCain to the Thunder, the Bulls reportedly traded Coby White to the Hornets, and the Clippers traded Chris Paul to the Raptors after their messy breakup. Later Wednesday, the Warriors swung a trade that sent Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield, two players widely seen as available, to the Atlanta Hawks for veteran center Kristaps Porzingis.
What’s the latest on Giannis Antetokounmpo?
Milwaukee Bucks forward and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo appears to be ready for a new home amid frustrations with the organization’s disappointing season. He’s projected to be out of the lineup for the next 4-6 weeks as he recovers from a calf injury, but will no doubt command a hefty return for the Bucks — and be a game-changing asset for the team that acquires him.
Among the “serious suitors” for Antetokounmpo are the Warriors, New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves, NBA insider Shams Charania reports.

Also atop the list of players who could be on the move are the Nets’ Michael Porter Jr. and the Grizzlies’ Ja Morant. Notably, despite an abysmal season, the New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly informing teams that several players, including Zion Williamson, are off the market.

Landale has averaged 11.3 points and 6.5 rebounds this season. Landale was traded by the Memphis Grizzlies in Tuesday’s trade that sent Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Jazz.

The Utah Jazz are expected to waive Lonzo Ball after acquiring the guard in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers, meaning Ball is poised to become a free agent, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday.
In addition to Ball, the Cavaliers are also sending a pair of second-round picks to the Jazz, per Charania.

The Mavericks might not be done making trades before Thursday’s deadline. The Mavericks are reportedly seeking a first-round pick for center Daniel Gafford, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer. NBA insider Marc Stein said the Hawks have expressed interest.
Gafford has averaged 8.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks this season. He has been with the Mavericks for the last few seasons after being acquired in a trade with the Washington Wizards in 2023.
On Wednesday, the Mavericks reportedly traded Anthony Davis for several players, two future first-round picks and three seconds.

After getting traded to the Bulls and Hornets in back-to-back days, Mike Conley Jr. could soon be back where it all started. If Conley is bought out of his current contract by the Hornets, he is eligible to be signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Minnesota Timberwolves reporter Dane Moore said Conley is reportedly considering going back to the Timberwolves if he hits the market.
Conley played multiple seasons for the Timberwolves before being traded on Tuesday. This season, he has averaged career lows with 4.4 points and 2.9 assists on 32.2 % shooting. This has led to his role being decreased, with him only starting nine games.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors have agreed to a three-team deal that will send 12-time All-Star point guard Chris Paul from L.A. to Toronto, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
But Charania also reported Wednesday that the Raptors won’t require Paul to report to the team and could still deal him once more.
Longtime NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Paul is expected to be waived.
Through the deal, the Clippers are ending up with the rights to 2019 second-round pick Vanja Marinković (from the Nets), per Jake Fischer.
Meanwhile, the Nets are getting Raptors guard Ochai Agbaji, a 2032 Raptors second-round pick and cash, per Charania.

Cam Thomas will not depart with the team before Thursday’s game against the Orlando, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer. Thomas has been ruled out for personal reasons. Thomas has averaged 15.6 points, 3.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds on 39.9% from the field.
Thomas role has also decreased under Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez. He has only started in eight games and has averaged 24.3 minutes per game
The Nets are 13-36. The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday.

The Bulls dealt both White and Conley to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday afternoon, one day ahead of the trade deadline, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. In exchange, the Hornets are sending Collin Sexton and three second-round draft picks to Chicago.
The Bulls are also receiving Ousmane Dieng in the deal. Dieng was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, though it’s unclear how he landed in Charlotte. Details of that trade are unclear.
The Bulls made the move ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline after fortifying their backcourt in two other trades.

The Oklahoma City Thunder easily defeated the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, but the win came with a potentially significant cost. Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sustained an abdominal injury during the contest, and will be out at least through the All-Star break due to the issue, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The severity of the injury is not known at the moment. The team plans to re-evaluate Gilgeous-Alexander after the break, meaning he’ll miss — at minimum — five games before a possible return.
It’s unclear when Gilgeous-Alexander sustained the injury. The 27-year-old turned in a strong performance during the Thunder’s 128-92 win over the Magic on Tuesday, scoring 20 points and dishing out nine assists in nearly 28 minutes on the court.

The Philadelphia 76ers are trading second-year guard Jared McCain to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for a 2026 Houston Rockets first-round pick, as well as three second-round picks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The news arrived on Wednesday, the same day Charania reported that Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the team’s leading scorer and the league’s reigning MVP, will be out through at least the All-Star break because of an abdominal strain he suffered Tuesday night during a 128-92 win over the Orlando Magic.
The Sixers selected McCain out of Duke with the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, and he showed glimpses of stardom early last season, but the 21-year-old has struggled with injuries since.
