Robert MacIntyre was right in the thick of things until late on in his round, eventually finshing fourth on 10 under.

“It was stressful,” said MacIntyre. “I was actually struggling to eat early in the back nine.

Final Round Highlights

The final round produced a thrilling finish, with Cameron Young capturing the biggest victory of his career. Young delivered a clutch performance, shooting a 4-under-par round to come from behind and edge past Matt Fitzpatrick in a dramatic Sunday showdown.

Young’s birdie on the famous 17th hole proved decisive, and a massive 375-yard drive on the 18th set up the winning par putt. He finished the tournament at 13-under-par, sealing his second PGA Tour victory and cementing his place among the game’s rising stars.

Dramatic Moments Throughout the Tournament

The event was packed with memorable highlights. Chad Ramey thrilled spectators by recording a spectacular hole-in-one on the 13th hole during the final round, marking the 45th ace in the tournament’s history.

Earlier rounds saw impressive performances from players like Ludvig Åberg, who led heading into Sunday before slipping down the leaderboard after a difficult final round.

The Iconic Island Green

One of the tournament’s most famous features is the par-3 17th hole, known worldwide as the “Island Green.” Surrounded by water, it is one of the most recognizable and nerve-wracking holes in golf, often deciding the outcome of the championship.

A Premier Event in Golf

First established in 1974, The Players Championship is the flagship event of the PGA Tour and regularly features the world’s top golfers competing for one of the largest purses in professional golf.

As another dramatic edition concludes, fans are already looking forward to next year’s tournament, where the best players in the world will once again test their skills at TPC Sawgrass in pursuit of one of golf’s most coveted trophies.

“It’s where I want to compete. Obviously last year was a big kind of wake-up call for me in order to know that I can really compete at the top end of world golf. I had a chance today to do something very special that obviously Sandy was the last one to do it from our country.

“Coming into that back nine, middle of that back nine I really thought I was in with a shout. The way I’m playing, driving it beautifully, putting unbelievable, it was just a matter of getting that ball inside 30 feet and then look out. Just disappointed with the bogeys on the back nine to finish, but yeah, I gave it a shot.”
