Alix Earle’s Stepmom Ashley Dupre: From Scandal to Spotlight

New Jersey native Alix Earle will dedicate her song on “Dancing with the Stars” tonight to her half-sister, Izabel, the 12-year-old daughter of Thomas “TJ” Earle and Ashley Earle, formerly known as Ashley Alexandra Dupré.

Earle posted on TikTok that Izabel, who was born when Alix Earle was 12, “came into our lives at a time of separation and anger,” thanking her half-sister for being “the second chance for our family.” Earle is dancing to “Sparks” by Coldplay, with Izabel taking part in the dance, and will likely have family and friends in the audience.

Alix Earle’s parents, Alisa and Thomas “TJ” Earle, split when she was in third grade, and her father remarried Ashley Dupré, who had drawn national attention in 2008 when the former call girl was tied to the Gov. Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal that rocked New York.

Despite the challenging time in the family’s lives — presumably what Earle mentioned on her TikTok — Earle and her stepmother seem to have forged a close connection: Ashley Earle told Alix “you are our entire world” on TikTok on Oct. 13, which Alix responded, “Love you.”

Who is Alix Earle’s stepmom?

Ashley Earle, formerly known as Ashley Alexandra Dupré, was a call girl who had joined a luxury escort service called Emperor’s Club VIP. In 2008, one her clients was New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, according to the New York Times. Dupré was unaware he was governor, but after news broke of their involvement, she became the main woman at the center of the governor’s downfall.

At the time, she told the NYT she had feared the public had thought of her as a “monster,” and later told ABC that had it not been her, “it would have been someone else. I was doing my job. I don’t feel that I brought him [Spitzer] down.”

A New Jersey native, Ashley Earle grew up with the name Ashley Youmans. In January 2010, Dupré appeared on The Howard Stern Show and spoke of prior incidents as a rape victim, and later posed nude for the May 2010 issue of “Playboy” magazine.

Did Ashley Dupre have an affair?

Ashley Dupré, who was 22 at the time, was quickly thrust into the international spotlight when she became involved in the Eliot Spitzer scandal. Dupré did not have an affair with Spitzer; rather, she was a call girl — a female sex worker who makes appointments by phone or online.

However, in 2008, shortly after the scandal, Duprè made headlines when she was accused of having an affair with then-married Thomas “TJ” Earle. TJ Earle at the time “accepted full responsibility” for the affair, per the Post. Alix Earle spoke of the affair on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, revealing that as an 8-year-old, she had been naive about the romance for years.

Was Ashley Dupre charged?

No. Ashley Dupré, or Ashley Earle as she is now known, was never charged in the Eliot Spitzer scandal and was granted immunity when she testified at court hearings related to the prostitution ring.

What happened to Eliot Spitzer?

Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer served as the state’s 54th governor from 2007 until he resigned in 2008. On March 10, 2008, the New York Times reported that Spitzer had patronized the high-priced escort service, Emperors Club VIP, and met for two hours with a $1,000-an-hour call girl. That call girl — later identified as Ashley Dupré on March 12 in the New York Times — was identified at the time as “Kristen.”

Spitzer, who allegedly had paid up to $80,000 for prostitutes over a period of several years, stood near his then-wide Silda, and apologized to his family and the public. In the wake of calls for his resignation and threats of impeachment, Spitzer resigned as governor on March 12, 2008.

Prosecutors announced in November 2008 that Spitzer would not face criminal charges, citing a “lack of evidence.”

Spitzer, who is now married to Roxana Girand, according to PageSix, has since leaving office appeared as a TV host, adjunct professor at City College of New York, and was involved in real estate. He also ran for New York City Comptroller in 2013 but lost to Scott Stringer.
