Actor Raymond Cruz, renowned for his portrayal of Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad, was arrested on September 8, 2025, in Los Angeles on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. The incident occurred outside his Silver Lake home while he was washing his car.
The Incident
According to Cruz’s agent, Raphael Berko, three women parked their white minivan extremely close to Cruz’s vehicle, making it difficult for him to wash his car. Cruz reportedly asked the women to move, but they refused. As he continued washing his car, the women began filming him. When Cruz turned around to address them, some water from his hose inadvertently splashed onto their vehicle. One of the women, who was reportedly the daughter of a housekeeper in the neighborhood, called the police, leading to Cruz’s arrest .
Cruz’s Statement
In a statement, Berko emphasized that Cruz has no criminal history and has been a resident of the neighborhood for over two decades. He described the incident as a misunderstanding, asserting that Cruz did not intentionally spray anyone.
Legal Proceedings
Cruz was taken into custody and held for approximately five hours before being released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 1, 2025. As of now, no formal charges have been filed against him.
Public Reaction
The arrest has garnered significant media attention, with many expressing surprise given Cruz’s history of portraying law enforcement officers on screen. His agent has expressed confidence that the case will be dismissed, citing Cruz’s exemplary record and the nature of the incident.
