The Pittsburgh Pirates earned a series win over the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 6-0 shutout win on Sunday afternoon at PNC Park.

Paul Skenes dazzled with six-excellent innings and Oneil Cruz stuffed the stat sheet to help lift Pittsburgh to the win.

The Pirates (44-62) will now travel out west for the start of a three-game series with the San Francisco Giants (54-52) on Monday night at Oracle Park.

First pitch is set for 9:45 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh and 93.7 The Fan.

RHP Mitch Keller (4-10, 3.53 ERA) Will Start for the Pirates

Keller got the win against the Detroit Tigers his last time out after allowing three runs across six innings pitched.

The right-hander has worked at least six innings in each of his four July starts and has a 2.10 ERA (6er/25.2ip) on the month.

Keller has already totaled 125 innings this season, which are the eighth-most in the National League. He also ranks 12th with a 1.16 WHIP.

In four career starts against the Giants, Keller is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA.

LHP Carson Whisenhunt (MLB Debut) Will Start for the Giants

Whisenhunt, the Giants’ second round pick out of East Carolina in 2022, will make his MLB debut against the Pirates on Monday.

The left-hander has spent the season with Triple-A Sacramento this season, where he went 8-5 with a 4.42 ERA, 86 strikeouts and 28 walks in 97.2 innings.

Across parts of four minor leagues seasons, Whisenhunt is 12-11 with a 4.18 ERA and has struck out 324 batters in 273.2 innings.

Whisenhunt throws a fastball, slider, curveball and changeup. He’s considered the Giants’ No. 3 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
